Home and out of placeness

definitions of home:

Home= Cambridge, 1Frost Terrace: Shady Hill, CRLS, Harvard Yard Child Care Center, the smell of rotting leaves, making rude jokes about mit and harvard, Joie De Vive, Porter Square, Walden pond, revere beach, the harbor, avon hill, dad, emily, 2 frost terrace, Aggazi neighborhood, Forest street, Oxford street, my BTS kids, angelos, mt auburn, the river, maple trees, chestnut trees, the harvard sq cemetary, harvard bookstore, fire places, roast potatos, the common, the other common, brick side walks, driving, snow. bob slates, amherst, reigionalism, baseball etc.
home=New York, Upper West Side: food, food, food, mom, gramma, the hungarian, zabars, cheap, riverside park, walking, subways, the little red light house, julie, d, music every where, the green market, street fairs, art, museums, the park, the battery, gia, newspapers smells .

"home"=d.c, columia heights: school, mt pleasent, chaos, outsider status, museums, effort, spanish, the public library, gelman library, smithsonian, biking, lindy's bon apatite,  tourists, the bookshop ben, On the  Water.

maybe the feeling of out of placeness comes the fact these lists are so unbalenced. and that the d.c. one i had to struggle to make even in this silly excersise. it's also of such a different nature  then the others some how. but i hate not feeling at home, i need that for my sanity. i need my places and i really struggle with that here more then i did ever before. how have the rest of you adjusted to moving to  places that just don't suite you and yet you've had to remain in. please advise.
