This is the first snippet of My London Life (aka lazy memoir posts.)
Ran the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge. There were thousands of people in Battersea Park and the weather was cool. No hayfever like last year but I was battling a cold. Ranked fastest female in my company!
Helped paint a mural in a South London playground. Was perched on a step ladder trying not to drip paint on people's heads. It was for Rockcorps where you volunteer and get a ticket...
...to a rock concert at Wembley Arena. Saw Eliza Doolittle and Kelis but left early and missed P Diddy.
Walking through Hampstead Heath where wild raspberries and blackberries are flourishing. Can you spot the bunny?
Reunited at drinks in Waterloo. Years ago we shared a flat in St Johns Wood and we're still great friends.
Basement Jaxx vs Metropole Orkest. At the Barbican Centre which is mecca for the arts. It was an orchestra concert that had the audience out of their seats dancing. (Including me!)
Bought a quirky colander from the charity shop. Talked to a flamboyant volunteer who was Scottish, spoke three languages and offered Chinese medicine advice when I said I had a cold. How bizarre and wonderful! On the way home, I raided the damson tree outside my old building.
Also bought this canvas print and fitted the hanging wire myself. Total cost was £4.80 but the feeling of satisfaction is priceless. Now I'll always have flowers in my bedroom.
Found a new hang out in Hampstead where the coffee is decent and cupcakes are divine. I love the marzipan strawberry.
