Living in St Johns Wood with the rich and the hobos

I've been living here for over a month now. I have two flatmates, a chatty Portuguese-Macinese guy and a Mexican gal. I like living in a nice safe area with Regents Park only 5 minutes walk away.

The only problems are that my room is noisy as it faces the high street and despite it being in a affluent area, no one smiles. Plus I had yet to witness Kate Moss or Paul Macartney on the street.

One night I closed my curtain as I could see a hobo sleeping in the doorstep of the shop directly opposite my room. He was also watching me when I pulled back the curtain the next morning. Creepy.

There is another hobo who asks for money outside of Tesco Express. I've never seen anyone offer him cash but it was nice to see a guy offer to buy him sandwich.

Every week I wake up to the sound of hooves clapping along the street below. It's the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery (a ceremonial unit of the British Army) parading down the High Street.

Taken from my window.

But the worst thing is, that my room is tiny. I knew it was small before I moved in, but I'm now feeling like I live in a shoe box. In fact, I'm sure my shoes are taking up more space in my room than I am!
