Paris Segway Tour

Motivated by seeing the police on Segways in Lisbon, Rols booked a Segway tour of Paris. He's fascinated by them and has often said: "walking is for suckers!"

I cannot imagine a better city to do a Segway tour in. The pavements are wide and the places to see are plentiful. Plus as you may know by now, I think Paris is the most beautiful city in the world.

We met the group at the south pillar of the Effiel Tower and proceeded by foot :-( to pick up our Segways and do some training.

It does'nt take long to master a Segway. After a while, it practically becomes mind control.

My Segway was called Sebastian, (love the name) and Rols was called Maximus. (He loved the name too.)

For those who have'nt heard of Segways, they are are transport machines which use sensitive gyroscopes to predict where you want to move and how fast. People say that it's impossible to fall off them but its not true. You'd only fall off them if you say, trick the Segway by lifting a foot and it gets confused. So you spin around in circles. That's what happened when I collided into a parked Smartcar. Whoopsy!

The tour was brilliant. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Paris. We covered alot of landmarks and got curious looks from EVERYBODY. Some people even took pictures of us.

I learnt alot of Parisian history on the tour. It almost feels like seeing mythical landmarks turn into reality. I was engaged for hours, from zipping around the city to seeing the awe-inspiring places of Paris.

That's why I adore her. Sophisticated, grandeur and infused with history. *sighs*

Dumbstruck-I'm on a Segway in Paris!!!

What's behind those trees?

Yay for Segways! (And "gay paree"!)

At the end of the tour, I tested the speed of Sebastian and clocked up 12 miles per hour before freaking out. Hitting a Smartcar was enough damage done for the day.

Can't recommend the Segway tour enough for anyone who wants to do something different while seeing the sights of Paris. Although my only disappointment was that we did'nt Segway around the Arc De Triomphe!
