White House!

Kennedy Center/White House trip in pictures. Text update later!

My coworker, Allison, in the flesh and being "fabulous."

Self-portrait style.

The infamous Ginger (my boss)

Had to take pictures in the super nice lobby bathroom in the hotel.

Check in. Ooooh, President's Club.. and notice the price. Ahh the perks of working in fund raising. My salary is peanuts, but the extras can be great.

There's a scale in the bathroom and Allison gets on it because she's insane.

...and then I spot the telephone next to the toilet.

Allison and I taking very important phone calls in the loo.

But I suppose that if you pay THIS much for a hotel room, there had better be a phone in the loo!

Gotta get checked out by the Secret Service.

Getting ready to go through the White House security check point.

... and I'm in! Glass of champagne in the Blue Room.

The White House's back yard (aka the South Lawn)

The ladies of the Richmond Symphony Development staff hanging out on the portico.

The flower arrangements were unbelievably gorgeous. These were in the State Dining Room.

THE boss, David. He never gets photographed with a drink, but he let is slide this time.

The First Lady comes to address the gathering, but first she says hello to her new in-laws, the Hagers (Jenna Bush's new husband's parents). Luckily for us, the Hagers are an old Richmond family and had a hand in getting us our reception.

Mrs. Bush says "hi!" She was very cute. And her suit was gorgeous!

When she was finished with her address, she made a bee line to this little girl and shook her hand and said hello. The little girl was just floored. It was adorable.

... and then we took a group picture with the White House photog and dispersed for more drinking and eating.

Allison and one of our favorite Board members, Brink. I had to take a picture of his tie.

Get it?

Green Room

Mr. Lincoln

and my favorite portrait of JFK

The East Room. Nobody hung out in there, so I took the opportunity to take a self portrait.

Double trouble - both of my bosses!

A quick bathroom break at the White House on the way out.

I surprised our awesome bus driver, Holmes, with a picture. He was great and how cool is the name "Holmes"? I kept saying " 'sup Holmes?"

At the Kennedy Center for what we really came for - the RSO concert!

Allison doing the running man, clipboard style.

The Hall of Nations.

Into the concert hall - it is showtime! I sneak an illegal picture of the stage while Matt shields me from the ushers.
