The nightmare plays out the same every night; the Sandman can't improve on reality.
David's hand reaching out...
People in the bazaar running, screaming...
The young boy - David still can't call him a suicide bomber - looking strangely calm as his hand moves to the detonator...
The doctor's opinion is that his ears - and shrapnel wounds - will heal, but for now the last word David spoke is the last word he heard and he fears it's the last word he will ever hear - asleep or in the waking nightmare that is life in Tel Aviv.
