This fic has been sitting around on my unpublished list for so long (I started it in January of 2008!) I should throw a freaking *party* now that it's published! Gah!

I have a short list of what I call unedited fic, which are complete but in beta/rewrites/stall mode, and a portion of them are my dreaded fic - the ones I really don't want to work on. However, my goal is to get that list down to as few as possible by end of year, so I finally set myself to fixing the things I didn't like about this one enough that I could publish it. It's still flawed, but thanks to an army of betas and First Readers I can finally bring you a version I don't have to cringe at.

This was an extremely rare fic I *asked* for help on. I posted at a CM comm for assistance and I was blown away by how many people emailed me offering to help (and this on top of the help I got from the wonderful people at ficfinishingThank you so much to everyone who did - it really helped get the fic to the next stage, even if that stage at that time wasn't published. Unfortunately

This story had everything. I laughed, cried, bawled, experienced intense relief, joy, and then contentment. Bravo on an incredible story and a job very, very well done.

Well, I *started* it in January of 2008. I didn't have a first draft until June of 2008. Still, I flailed and avoided it for over a year so it was time for me to get over myself and put this out. I actually have an even older CM fic from 2006 I should throw a huge shindig over and a big bang from December of last year - both of which are in the same status, done but not published.

I'm thrilled that you had such an emotional reaction to this story! I was really hoping to take people on a ride in this tale, going through a big range of human emotion so it means a lot that it reached you in that way.
