Not my most stellar writing because I drank 2 bottles of cider with our rather late dinner, but:
I wanted to thank Allie and the other waitress whose name I did not get (she has long curly blond hair) for not allowing a group of young men to be jerks tonight, allowing us to have a table we'd been waiting nearly 30 minutes for.
There had been a large group seated near the fireplace; most of them had left. Three were still sitting there, having finished their drinks and paid. After 10-15 minutes, three more guys came in and greeted the seated people. The original three then started putting their coats on to leave while the new three were going to sit down at the table. Allie told them it wasn't OK because we had been waiting so long and there were no empty tables in the place. They asked for her name, so I expect you will get a complaint from them. So I particularly wanted to thank both waitresses for standing up for us.
To sum up, J.J.Mahoney's in Redmond has kickass waitresses, a delicious braised lamb shank and yummy Irish cider. And I really hope Allie doesn't get in any trouble.
