Well! Guess what I get to do today?

Another doctor visit this morning, where despite upping the atenolol does, my BP was up AGAIN, to 140/100, or 148/96 depending which reading you like. So my doctor says "I think it's time to have a baby."

I'm supposed to call labor & delivery around 1 just to be sure they're not swamped with emergencies, and then head in an hour later, where we start the induction process. I get monitored for an hour or two and get sent home if everyone's fine but there isn't much progress, or stick around and have a baby. If the gel from that step doesn't do much, 6 hours later we start the pitocin, which I remember really not liking much last time.

So anyhow, kid should be arriving today or tomorrow. Whee! If it takes any longer than that, I will cry.

Turns out I've been having fairly minor contractions for a while. Currently they're every 5 minutes or so, but I only feel about 2/3 of them. Had a pretty lengthy NST that wasn't worrisome, but not as fantastic as we'd wish, so another reason to get the kid movin' on out.

Right now I'm pondering what will be a good lunch and if an emergency trip to buy a new laptop is warranted. And realizing I'm still not sure what we're going to name him.
