Yes, I'm just now getting around to a list of things I should be thankful for. Thanksgiving weekend actually kind of sucked, but that's for another post.
1) Gimme Shelter! I have a shelter that's quite nice actually, thanks to my family.
2) It's a Small World After All. I'm glad I actually have a list of friends to whom I can send holiday cards. It just feels good to put actual cards in the mailbox. (Of course there are varying degrees of closeness, but it doesn't hurt to NOT burn any bridges.)
3) The Weight. I'm shallow for being glad that my weight appears to have a relatively low maximum considering I don't exercise at all and I'm not employed. Because, you know, I like to be able to eat stuff. Tasty, fattening, holiday stuff. *pauses a moment, then rushes off to check the bathroom scale*
4) Hair. Currently I have a haircut that has grown out quite well with the layers. *suppresses memory of bad hair from the 90's*
5) Writing to Reach You. I love email, partly because I'm not much of a phone person most of the time.
6) Toxic. It's been hard for me to come to terms with it, but deep down I believe it is for the best that I left grad school (yes, I'd go as far as saying it can be toxic).
7) You're Beautiful. There are so many attractive men to look at on TV. ;-)
8) Dear Diary. LJ is such a great way to find good fic. And I find it easier sometimes to write for an audience in mind, even though I don't think more than 3 people ever read my ramblings, so it's a good way to focus.
9) Driftwood. Ah, the internet, mecca of knowledge and entertainment...how I can float on your neverending streams of information.
10) Some Might Say. I appreciate having friends and family to advise me and bounce ideas off of.
11) Material Girl. I'm grateful that I have a closet full of clothes.
12) Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend. And plenty of accessories.
13) Money. I am most definitely thankful that my parents can support me while I am sans real job.
14) Walking Down the Hill. OK, so I badly sprained my ankles, but they really seem to be on the mend now. Score another one for acupuncture and alternative medicine. Eventually I should be able to walk down the stairs and other inclines without flinching.
Does that cover everything? That's all I can think of...any suggestions?
