Song and Dance

So I went ot the WRHS production of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, and I must say that it sucked! All evening I found myself saying, "Todd would never have let us get away with that." I mean seriously folks, its called projection! Do NOT use microphones. Also, I could see the boom mike in the back, The queen was missing her crown, the king was missing his ring, Cinderella kept dropping her lines and could NOT sing, The aging makeup was poorly done, the costumes were poorly made, the background (which, btw, was upside down and stolen from D2D, as were a number of furniture and decor pieces) was broken and falling over, Cinderella had three different pairs of glass slippers, and kept talking into the headset after curtain, (i.e. curtain drops after Prince Charming puts the shoe on her, and she says, "Now where the hell is my other shoe!!") Nice.... Let's see.... The fairy god father was upstaging Cinderella and needs to work on his pronunciation and enunciation, The stepmother and one of the stepsisters needed to develop more than one emotion and intonation, the techies need to learn the see me, see you rule, as well as silent feet rule, and black, non-reflective clothing rule. (do not wear white during curtain, in front of curtain, to change scenery.) Oh, and all the actors need to learn to look out at the audience, we are not on the ceiling. They also need to learn not to break character, I dont care how distracting the audience is. Like I said, Todd would never have let us get away with it.
