Wow. That explains, like, everything.

My M-F life is spent vacillating between rushing to beat the clock and enforced stasis.  I need to be at work on time; if I miss this train, I'm stuck for 15 minutes; I am stuck at work until the clock reads 5:15, regardless of what there may or may not be to do.

A lot of my time on weekends is absorbed by necessary prep for the coming week - buying groceries and kitty litter, doing laundry, changing the sheets, etc.

Once those are all done, though, I have glorious blocks of time - to spend exactly how I please.  Accordingly, I *enjoy* lingering.  If I have no successive engagements, I like strolling, shopping (but not necessarily buying), sipping coffee (as long as I have already paid for it and am not going to be trapped waiting for a bill).

I like reading every word on the placards at museums - unless I don't want to.

I enjoy geocaching - I can spend as much time looking, moving from point to point, as I want - I can stop and take my time studying my environment to find the hide - and when I am done, I can stop and go do something else.

So obviously I need to be an independently wealthy )or otherwise supported as to necessities like health care) independent contractor.  :)  I want the Levenger lifestyle (and I like the corporate uniform) - but I need to make the hours be on my terms.
