Something about the three hour time change twice in three days has really left me dragging. As in, I need someone to scrape me off my bed and deposit me at my desk with a lifetime supply of coffee. I know that when we kick the clocks back an hour this weekend, it's going to wipe me out. Oh well. Plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead...
Trying to play a bit of catch up this week. Sounds like a bit of a refrain these days. The conference in Columbus went very well. I met with some lovely people, heard a lot of interesting pitches, and there was even a guy in the mix! These events, being mostly romance writers, tend to be a series of hen parties, so it was nice for a change. I'm not sure he knew what he was getting himself into, however. Apparently someone just told him to check it out for networking purposes, which was fine. He certainly stood out.
Need to fit in all sorts of chores this week that I've been putting off, and I can't believe it's already Tuesday. I seem to have misplaced yesterday somehow. The car has to go into the shop with no more delays, as one of the brake lights is out and I don't feel like getting pulled over. Also have to find myself a 70s costume for M and P's Halloween bash this weekend. I'll admit, Halloween is really not my holiday; I generally don't like dressing up at all, let alone to a specific theme. It's hard to find things that fit properly, it's an expense I don't really need right now, and the whole thing is making me slightly grumpy. But I love my friends, so I have to hit a couple of thrift stores and cross my fingers.
I did manage to pick up my plane tix to go home for Christmas. I kept forgetting to book them, and sure enough, the prices were ungodly, so I bit the bullet and cashed in some frequent flyer miles. After all, that's what they're for, and it's not like I don't still have a truckload and more on the way.
Now I'm off to e-mail some folks, and then to run a couple of quick errands that are rather pressing. Like buying a few groceries, as the fridge is rather bare...
