The 10 Commandments of Livejournal
1.) Thou shalt not make Livejournal a god for you shall have no other gods before the One True Living God of Heaven.
(Exodus 20:3)
2.)
Thou shalt not take the Lord's God name in vain (misusing it as a swear
word) or use profane words on Livejournal. "Let there be no obscenity,
foolish talk or coarse joking."
(Exodus 20:7, Leviticus 19:12, Deuteronomy 5:11, Ephesians 5:4)
3.)
Honor your father and your mother (and the rest of your family and
friends) while on Livejournal. Do not say anything that would hurt your
family. Show them respect and bring them honor, even if you don't think
they deserve it.
(Exodus 20:12, Matthew 15:4, Ephesians 6:1-2)
4.)
Thou shalt not steal other people's Livejournal icons without first
asking for the use of them and then crediting when you do so.
(Exodus 20:15, Deuteronomy 5:19)
5.)
Thou shalt not give false testimony against thy neighbor. This not only
includes outright lying but exaggerations, twisting, and half-truths.
"Like a madman shooting firebrands or deadly arrows is a man who
deceives his neighbor and says, 'I was only joking!'"
(Leviticus 19:11, Proverbs 26:18-19)
6.)
Thou shalt not write a Livejournal entry out of anger and bitterness in
order to backbite. Thou shalt not gossip which includes any and all
false or malicious statements about a person that could ruin his or her
reputation.
(Ephesians 4:31, Colossians 3:8)
7.) Thou shalt not boast or flatter for it is a disgrace. "May the LORD cut off all flattering lips and every boastful tongue."
(Psalm 12:3, Psalm 52:1)
8.)
There shalt not even be a hint of sexual immorality or of any kind of
impurity found in thy Livejournal. Put to death the earthly nature of
lust and evil desires.
(Ephesians 5:3, Colossians 3:5)
9.)
Thou shalt not write anything in thy livejournal which causes your
brother or sister-in-Christ to stumble. "He who loves his brother
abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him."
(Romans 14:21, 1 Corinthians 8:13, 1 John 2:10)
10.)
Above all, in your Livejournal (and especially in life): "love the Lord
your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind,
and with all your strength and love your neighbor as yourself. This is
the first and greatest commandment."
(Deuteronomy 6:5, 10:12-13, 11:13-14, Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30)
