Addressing graduation announcements...HOLY JEEBUS!

-----

In the last 24 hours, I have overheard two conversations about the Massachussetts decision to allow gay marriage, which in my humble opinion is waaaaay past due in our "modern," accepting, politically correct society. Both of these conversations were along the lines of, "How can you call it marriage when it's not and man and a woman? God did not intend for this. I mean, there are certain things that are just holy and shouldn't be messed with...blah blah blah" Now, I am fully aware that in my nice warm, liberal little college bubble, I have a skewed picture of America's acceptance of homosexuality. But I still can't help but wonder why we aren't past this point yet! I'm trying not to let it get in the way of the joy that the decision should be (and is) bringing to me and millions of others. I just pray that one day real soon, people will wake up from their fundamentalist Christian comas and realize that it's in fact NOT the Dark Ages, and that in order for anything good to happen in this world we need to love those who are different from us. God wants it that way, people!
