I'm down in Atlanta, collaborating with my boss. It's been a productive week. The weather's been chilly, but by "chilly" I mean "only 30 to 40 degrees", so I don't expect much sympathy from the Chicago crowd. And it's supposed to be in the 50s and 60s for the weekend, too.
I went out today for a haircut. I was directed to the nearby barbershop, which has been around forever. My boss's father-in-law has gotten his hair cut there for 30 years. It's pretty old-fashioned.
The seats at the barbershop were so old that they didn't go down very far. I had to slouch down in the chair to accommodate the tiny little Asian lady so she could see what she was doing. It was pretty charming.
I was a little startled by the warm shaving cream and straight razor when they cleaned up my sideburns and the back of my neck. But again, charming. I know I've had straight razor treatment for haircuts before, but I can't for the life of me remember when or where it was. It's been years.
