My house is clean! CLEAN!
I've got some catching up to do here. This is the girls being the girls. I have hardly spent any time on the computer in the last two weeks. I've been so intent on dialing my house back to 0, just to get it into simple maintenance mode (which it never has been before so this whole process has been educational). I've been deep cleaning and organizing non stop which means no computer since that is too distracting for me. I admit I have a computer problem. But my sacrifice paid off. The house looks better than it ever has. I've also been decorating the girls rooms and I have some painting projects coming up. We're finally painting this week and getting new baseboards. (Even if the landlord doesn't reimburse us..I can't handle ugly walls and old ratty baseboards.)
So, I'm reprogramming my brain to see clutter and little messes and eye sores before they become an issue. (Because I used to proficiently tune all of that out. Never saw it....until someone was on their way over. Then I saw all of it.) hmm....I wonder how long it will take before the new habit is set in stone and I have successfully brainwashed myself to be a neat freak. If my efforts don't pan out I may have to call in a professional. Shock therapy maybe. Which reminds me, I also need sock therapy, because I have an entire box of just one sock of a million different variations, sizes, colors and designs of socks, none of which match each other. Am I the only one who has this problem? Where are the other socks??? Where do they go?? Who has my socks? If you have my socks, I would like them back.
Actually, never mind. I just got an awesome idea for a craft project for the kids this week. Sock puppets. Lots and lots of sock puppets!
