Onward, to episode 2 of season 1!

My apologies for the "herp-derp" face. This dream (nightmare) really freaked me out when I first watched the show. This was before I realized that freakishly realistic and/or scary nightmares were par for the course for the Winchester family, and so I felt incredibly sorry for Sam's suffering. I still feel bad, but in face of Dean's memories of Hell and so on, it's like... Oh. Okay.
Honestly, I'm only including this because I was wondering- how many times did Papa Winchester get hit on the head by the shelf until he figured out the shotgun set up?
Just wondering.
What I would give to have this journal. Unf. It's like, porn, but better. And yeah, I know there's a commercialized version out there to buy, but I want the real thing- worn leather, torn pages, hellish scribblings and all.
Once again, another normal activity for the Winchesters- entering forbidden, high-toxic areas with a high risk of death inside. Yup.
What is it with Kripke and killing things with fire?
These boys... I can't help it. Once an episode, you're guaranteed to get a dramatic profile shot. And I have to screencap it. Always.

Overall thoughts on the episode? It was a good follow-up. That's about it. The pilot drew me in, made me care and want more, and then Wendigo proceeded to establish guidelines for the audience and what to expect from the show. Following a cold trail to find their dad? Check. A case that Sam bitches about but then probably researches the hell out of it? Check. Something dies in a fire? Double check.
Yeah, this episode was basically... Basic. A good episode, with great quotes ("Hey! You want some white meat, bitch?"//"Corporeal? Alright, Professor." "Shut up."), but nothing game changing. If this was a fic, it'd be a case!fic. No real character development, but plenty of action and good times. Plus, the creature died. In a fire.
