WorldCon Pre-Report

Leaving: TOMORROW

Packing: More or less done. You know, pjs, toiletries, laptop, all the stuff that goes in the morning of. Everything else is set.

Plans: SOMEWHAT MADE. Meeting up with an sf_drama mod tomorrow for coffee, parents get in that night, con pocket guide has been annotated with stuff I want to go to. What's that? I want to go to several conflicting things during each time slot? Yeah, that's normal.

Internet Situation: IFFY. But hopeful. Thanks to merlyn, I found out that the 16th street mall, two blocks from the con center, is a free public wifi spot, with coffee shops and a bookstore and so on. Hopefully I'll just wander down there once a day or so and avoid paying for internet in the hotel or con center.

Yarn: PACKED. One project on plane, which really needs to be finished ASAP, as it is my mother's Christmas present (WorldCon is the new Christmas), second project in suitcase to take over for soon-to-be-finished project. Since it is a sock, just like last year, I believe it is now a tradition for Emily to knit a sock at WorldCon. I might also try to see if I can make it a Knitlympics project. We'll see. Swatch on the days leading up to the opening ceremonies, cast on Friday, and see how far I get? I don't want to hold myself to it, though.

lynxreign: ON HIS WAY HOME. HOME. Errands done, dinner acquired. Then we go to the post office, then he packs, then we sleep in preparation for leaving the house at 3:30 tomorrow morning. Yuck.

Cat: Will be taken care of by mebib (thanks again, darlin'!)

IDK what else I can say in this bizarre format that I've set for myself. I am excited and ready to go, things are generally good, and oh, did I mention there's actually a librarian/libraries TRACK this year?! So. Cool. I told the museum that I was going on vacation, but that it should totally count as hours for my internship since I'd be going to those panels. Oh right, the museum, there's another post that I'll need to make soon, about my project I made up and how a few people skipped some internet evolution stages thanks to the project. Good times.
