So I got an IM from my lil sis, Jen. I can't describe how much I miss her. She and I didn't go out all the time but whenever we needed someoe to share our excitement, sadness, etc. we called each other. Its odd to think we can't just do that on a whim anymore. From our conversation, I think she feels that way too.
She really needed someone with all the red tape from Mercy. Her college is being pretty cool though. Thankfully, one of her relatives paid off her debt to Mercy so she has her diploma. Yay.
I auditioned for Skiles last night. It was fun. I had needed a reminder about why theatre means a lot to me and seeing Stephen again helped. I had worked on my Troilus and Cressida piece and performed it. It was open auditions so every eye had the chance to see their competition. I went fifth. The talent I was watching was incredible and before I lost my nerve I went for it. He knew what I was doing, as I'd done it for his class. Oh well, so he saw it again. He did like it though.
I just hope I get a background character. Maybe 1-3 lines just to make it worth while. Working with Stephen would be so cool. We'll see. 16 people auditioned Tuesday and over 22 auditioned with me. Keeping in mind only 21 can be cast. I just hope I make the cut. If he needs tech I'd be up for that too.
I spoke to a woman from Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival and am trying to get an internship there for the summer. *crosses fingers* I think that would rock! The idea of getting advertising work for a theatre is so cool. I would also be in a position to volunteer my services to the tech staff should they need assistance. I really, really want it. After talking to her I feel confident, she said I'd know a little after Thanksgiving. Yay! *fingers crossed*
Peter got his internship at Shadowbox Cabaret. He'll be doing tech which is awesome for him. He's just a bit excited.
Kelly's surprise birthday went well. It was over in Martin/Lojoy's room. Eva invited me and I promised Kelly a back massage for her birthday. She said she'd call to let me know when. She had a take home test but Martin convinced her to do a shot with him. She's so little that one shot of something strong and she's gone.
Watched the Redwings vs the Blue Jackets last night. Peter, Doug, Mark and I watched while playing Rook. Yay. When Mark left we played idiot. I fun game that Peter taught me.
My meeting with Shaw went well. I explained to him that it was a fluke I had failed the last quiz and that since we get to drop our lowest, I had confidence I could still earn an A. So the good news is I can now see him as a person rather than a teacher I dislike. He is really accurate shooting rubber bands. He does that to kill flies on a window. It was funny but rather impressive. He killed 6. I shot each. He talked to me about some article he was writing for Cambridge University. Three actually; A comparison of Judaism and Christian relations, and two others that I do not recall the theme there of. Oh well the point is it went well.
