This one looks like a blooming flower

Today as I was browsing through the women's studies section in half price books I couldn't help but overhear this loud woman in the section next to me. This section was the religion section and she was reading every title on the shelf out loud to her, for what I presumed to be, her daughter who was not old enough to read. In the midst of reading off these titles she explains to her daughter that she's looking for one with Jesus in the title. Isn't that like every one, I thought. After a while I was getting so angry because 1) its a book store and you shouldn't be talking so loud and 2) after I snuk a peek at them I realized that her daughter was at least 10 so there was no reason for her to be shouting the titles across the store to her daughter. Ugh, people are so loud. So I ended up getting Naked by David Sedaris, Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and this little book that featured influential American Women. G-d if you didn't know me you'd think I actually was lesbian.

After that I met up w/ Peter E. and we went to the feminist sex store. He seemed really uncomfortable so I kept shooing him to the man's section. He kept explaining that "no, dan and I don't need any more toys", but I was just trying to get him to wonder off so the other ladies looking at the magic bullets did not feel awkward with a pair of testicles near them. Speaking of testicles I saw a pair of red ones on a pick up truck the other day. What a weird product to manufacture and attach to your car.

When we were driving through uptown a let two gay guys walk in front of the car to cross the street and it reminded me of how much Cedar Rapids will not be like that.
