Francais et les autres choses....
Voila! Une course du francais a fini et j'ai deux plus! French final today and it wasn't so much difficult as it was loooong. 3 pages of listening exercises (is firmerai imparfait or futur simple? You don't know this verb? Ok, I change it. What about this tomberai?) with my professor making them up as he went along and then promptly forgetting what he had just made up and 5 pages of written test. The written part really wasn't so bad, but it was all verbs and it's fact that if you conjugate 50 verbs in a span of 20 minutes, your brain turns to mush.
To add to my fabulous week, Blinkers is now lame...I'm sort of kicking myself because he felt off on Tuesday and I kept thinking 'he can't possibly be off, it's just because we're outside and the corner's deeper and the footing's not that great...' and just quit a little early and of course, Wednesday, he's definitely lame. I'm hoping it's just because the farrier just took out the thrush packs in his front hooves and his soles are still sensitive. I have this feeling if it were anything more (like any sort of muscle strain) he'd be hopping around on 3 legs looking pathetic (stoic, he is not.) so I'm hoping a few days off will cure it.
That means that I got to ride Smarty in my lesson today, who's cute as a button (a little 14h chestnut with a little tiny face) but has apparently been totally ignored this summer. He was actually jumpy in his stall to the point where I wanted to ask if he had any abuse history, but once we rode (and finally got a decent, balanced trot out of him), he was in my pockets and on my shoulder and begging for kisses and brushing. Poor guy. I think I'll start bringing him carrots. Hopefully I can keep working with him for a bit if Blinky's still off. He's really cute once he gets going, but I don't think he has the chance to work it very often.
And then, of course, Dobby ate the cd dad sent me. How pathetic is it to have to take your car into the dealer because it won't give you back your CD? Pretty pathetic, I think. *sigh* Maybe I should just turn the hair back to blonde....it seems there's no hiding it.
The bright side is that Ray show horses had some beautiful rides at the world show last week, and even though I felt like a total stalker, I was so happy to see them on the webcam. Sort of made me miss showing, but if the rumored western team takes off at MHC, I'll have a chance to wear my shiny western clothes again :)
Anyway....that's my incredibly boring life. I really need to pick up some more exciting hobbies if I'm going to keep writing this journal. Thank god SGA and project runway start next week!
