It's been a while

So it's been a while since I posted last. Things have been really busy here lately. Nothing particularly exciting happening, just me having to be in multiple places at once on a regular basis (daily). How is it that third year, being so very boring, is also so very busy? I just don't get it. My classes bore me to tears and I procrastinate, yet I always feel stretched for time, sleep, and space.

Anywho, I'm trying to avoid a nervous breakdown this semester so here's my To Do list for the rest of the term:
Aquisitions Project (due Wed) and make an outline/learn accounting (I'm so screwed)
Outline Administrative Law/learn this shit for the first time
Outline Corporations/learning UPA and RUPA and getting acquainted with my supplement
Prep for Evidence exam (Carr, need I say more?)
Outline Crim Pro
* Pray for decent grades in above classes

In my actual life, as opposed to my pretend law school life, things are really starting to gear up. After exams this semester my NYC semester is going to come up really fast. It hasn't really even sunk in that I'm going yet. I still have so much to do. I'm going to NYC for thanksgiving to hang out with my cousins/look for housing for spring. Hopefully that'll take care of itself pretty easily, or else I'll be the annoying cousin couch surfing in Forest Hills for a week or so (sorry, Pauly).

I bought my plane tickets to and from the west coast for spring break. I'm so excited to see my friend Jessi in Missoula, MT and then take a mini road trip across Idaho and Washington to Seattle. The Missoula area is supposed to be great for kayaking, hiking, hot springs and the like. Plus the area has a lot of new microbreweries to enjoy and then there's the simple fact that I'll be hanging out with Jessi, who is always up to something fun. It'll be fabulous. We're planning to stop over in Wenatchee (central WA) on our way to Seattle and check out the organic farming community and the wineries (always a good time) and get a home cooked meal from my grandma : ) Then Seattle will likely consist of bar hopping and making asses of ourselves before we catch our respective flights- mine to NYC, hers to Lima, Peru!

When did I grow up, exactly?

After spring break I have a few ideas floating around as to other trips and adventures, but I'm still mulling them all over. It's really going to depend on if I can afford the trips and what kinds of opportunities arise between now and then. I have about 2 weeks off between end of classes and graduation that I'd like to use to relax a little before Bar Bri starts in June. At first I thought Puerto Rico or Costa Rica for paddling/beach time, but after doing more research and decided against those options. I'm just not ready to travel internationally alone yet and I'm certainly not ready to paddle internationally without a big group. I may opt to visit Jessi in Peru, but can't be sure that's an option as of yet. My final thought recently has been a little road trip to North Carolina to NOC to take some whitewater lessons and enjoy the outdoors, then stop over at my dad's house for a visit and maybe even stop off at a beach. I could hit West Virginia on my way back up to Buffalo for graduation even.

My most recent indication that I have lost my mind is that I'm applying to work in Europe following the bar exam. The most likely option is working in France for just shy of a year. The program I'm thinking about requires a complicated process and may not pan out at all, but I figured it's worth applying. I'm also looking into working in the tourism industry somewhere else, perhaps a hotel or something for a few months. As long as I don't have to wash dishes I'll be happy and I would likely have access to a lot of fun activities within whatever company hired me. This is all purely speculative, but I think some time away from the legal world will do me a world of good.

Well this entry has officially allowed me to procrastinate getting to the first item of my list for long enough. I should do some work before hitting the hay.
