Coming Attractions
Fall semester is really getting away from me already. My classes are pretty boring but there's still a lot of material to cover so it's going to be another mad dash at the end of the semester this year. I think 3rd year is like 1st year only nothing is new and exciting, hence the joke:
The first year they scare you to death
The second year they work you to death
The third year they bore you to death
I guess I'm having a pretty typical law school experience then. I just hope I can buckle down enough that I don't just slide by and end up with shitty grades because I couldn't be bothered to do my readings.
So I now have a full list of things coming up to get pumped about or at least to give me focus:
Swim practice is pretty awesome and a much better way to exercise than going to the gym. Plus it makes me feel like a badass to say "I'm on a Master's Swim Team at the JCC. I swim about 2 miles in the morning BEFORE coming to law school." Cool, huh?
Next Monday Leigh and I are going to see the Indigo Girls play at a casino. I'm really pumped to see them and to buy a t-shirt.
Speaking of t-shirts, I think I'm going to order one that says "Pro-woman, Anti-Palin."
Next Thursday I leave for the southern states for a kayak/drinking trip that I've been planning with friends since June. So. Freakin'. Excited. My goal is for everyone to have fun WITHOUT getting arrested.
Fall break is right around the corner, which means I get to work enough hours to actually pay some bills. Awesome.
Not so awesome is that I'm retaking the MPRE because this summer I was having too much fun in Alaska to be bothered to study. So I failed by 3 stinking points. Grr...oh well, I'll most likely pass this time as long as I, you know, STUDY.
That's all for now. I'm so swamped but at least I'm keeping busy, which is way better than just sitting around being bored....but if Christmas decides to come early and end the semester sooner rather than later I'd take that too.
