So being that tomorrow is Martin Luther King Jr. day, I thought it would be an appropriate time to adress rascism...
as in the employees (well everyone really) at the Manor at Steeplechase are extremely rascist. (but it's funny)
today one of the residents at Steeplechase (if you don't know it's a retirement community so the people there aren't well... young) so anyways one of the residents at Steeplechase says to one of our servers Tiffany (who happend to be Black/ African-American/ whatever you wanna say) and she says to her, "You're holiday is coming up tomorrow" and smiles.
needless to say we all went back into the kitchen and died laughing.
later we were talking about how all the white employees were filling in for the black ones tomorrow b/c "of their holiday" and what not. and we began to discuss one of our not so popular employees (who's ethnic origin is kinda like a bowl of potpurri) and one of my fellow employees asked if this girl would ask for the day off too.
so what does the little white southern emily louise mcnish say? "well, she can really only ask for half of the day off"
yeh I'm going STRAIGHT to hell for that one, do not pass go do not collect $200.
but we had a laugh or too.
after a lull in the conversation we yelled at cassie for speaking spanish into his phone too loudly (yes we fairly discriminate against all minorities at "the manor")
then sami (our iraqi dishwasher) began to complain about how people always talk to loud on their phones like the other day when he was at the bank...
so what does emily say to this?
"just wear a really big backpack and start mumbling and counting backwards, I gurantee everyone will be really quiet"
(yep, Hell's gonna be fun)
yes so if you've read this far... know that all of these extremely rascist remarks were made in fun and not serious.
I hope the Martin Luther King Jr. can look at this and know his dream of a bunch of white girls, a black girl, a mexican, and an iraqi can all sit down and eat and make fun of each other in peace.
amen.
