As a former service person myself, I can't stand incompetence in service people! First thing today, I went and picked up the mail at the P.O. and at first I was excited because I thought we'd gotten one of our cell phone rebates back in the mail, but alas, it was a message from US Cellular telling us that the UPC code we submitted for one of our phones "is either not valid for this offer or not legible." Well that's funny, because the phone IS eligible, that was part of the reason we bought that particular phone, and the UPC we submitted was cut right off the end of the box, and if I can read the UPC # in the photocopy I made before mailing it all off, they sure as hell can read it on the actual label. We even went into the store to verify with one of the salespeople that we did it right, and she agreed it looked perfect, but she wasn't willing to go to bat for us with the 800# you're supposed to call with questions. Why is it OUR fault that THEIR trained monkeys can't read a number off a form correctly? Oh, and this isn't even the first time this has happened! Last time we got new phones (our Razrs, over 3 years ago), they rejected one of the rebates then as well (we didn't try to fight it, I can't remember why now). Jerks!
Then I went to my bank to deposit a check so I can pay some bills. I was going to use the ATM, but there weren't any envelopes available, so I had to go inside, to a human teller instead (which I hate doing, ever since I had a job interview there and was rejected). So I give her all my stuff with my CHECKING account number written all over it, she does her thing and hands me my receipt, and I could tell by looking at the balance that for some reason she put the funds into my SAVINGS instead! I was already outside by this point, and really not interested in standing in line again, so I just went to the ATM anyway and made a transfer. Idiots!
