When I'm unemployed, I become really industrious, doing useless things. My hair is one of my current projects.

Using conditioner only really works! It's expensive but I used to use WEN by Chaz Dean. http://www.chazdean.com/about-wen It just take so many pumps for my long hair!

How long did it take you to get accustomed to using it? I am getting SO tired of products that are killing my hair and scalp. I've been thinking of switching to baking soda but, you know, I'm a professional and I need to look presentable, so I fear the transition time.

A little while. A few times maybe? He recommends the first time you do it to sleep in the conditioner (it helps if you have one of those turban towel wraps), and to put the conditioner in your hair when you get in the shower first and rinse at the end of your shower.

Also, seriously, for my length of hair, the recommendation seemed to be in the area of 40 pumps. That's why it ended up being so expensive for me! So make sure you're using enough!
