Wall-E
Grade: B+
It was an absolutely fantastic and impressive movie! The animation was so great! Pixar is a company known for it's ability to design and animate fantastic, realistic eyes. And they kicked ass in a movie where they took the eyes away! Very well done. And so very cute. In all a sweet movie.
So why the low grade?
First and foremost, it gave me nightmares. I was tortured by images of super fat people on floaty chairs and lazy asses, knowing, and more terrified by the truth, that this is the future of our species - AND EVEN WORSE (!!!) most people are probably WISHING for that day! Its horrible. But lets face it, the movie was a semi-preachy save the world and recycle message.
In its favor, however, the movie did leaps and bounds better at sending that message than did Happy Feet (Double F), or Fern Gully (Which is not ranked because I was too young to judge it when I saw it).
Also, the movie by Pixar was Clever! So very clever. The robots were more human than the humans! (And really, that's not giving much away). Go see it. Really, it only lost points for the nightmares....
