I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale.

Elwood went to Memphis! He had a good time travelling all night, staying at the Heartbreak Hotel, visiting various Elizabethtown landmarks, and *not* getting sick. Some of the rest of us maybe not so much.

Elwood gets ready to go, waiting patiently in the car outside Max & Erma's, aka the Land of the Tub of Ice Cream That Almost Makes Up For the World's Worst Waiters.

Alabama!

Tennessee! We missed Mississippi somewhere in there. Also, this picture really is a game of Where's Elwood?, but you can still see his little shorty tie, right?

Elwood makes friends with Elvis and a bottle of wine in the hotel.

You know your hotel is great when it has VH1. Sadly, Awesomely Oversexed was not on.

On the trolley on Main Street. Whee!

Finally, we found the Arcade Restaurant, home of the world's best chilli. At least that's what Kirsten Dunst told us.

After charming the waitress, Elwood settles in for a pre-lunch smoke.

Mmm the "World's Best Chilli." Not entirely accurate, that, but when you're so, so hungry, it really doesn't matter.

Earnestine & Hazel's

Buffalo!

Taking the bridge to Graceland.

Trying to do a little bit of Elvis stalking spotting.

Learning a bit about Elvis.

Elwood had a good time at Graceland.

You make me so lonely baby, I get so lonely, I get so lonely I could die.

This Walgreens sells the best cold medicine in the world. No more severe congestion!

Elwood finds some more fun in Memphis.

Elwood was really excited to see Sun Studio.

For some reason, Gayoso Lane called out to Elwood. We don't know why.

A more somber moment at the National Civil Rights Museum.

And finally, the goat at O'Terrill's Pub on Beale Street. Yes, the goat. In my head, I've named her Mellie.

Oh, and because it was such a beautiful day yesterday, the cherry blossoms outside my apartment building.

Maybe some day catatonic1242 will post the pictures from Savannah. Possibly.

Oh, and in other news, the new season of The Apprentice has a poor man’s Orli. Not that I’ve ever watched The Apprentice. Except I totally have.
