I'm reading the book "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck - very short, beautifully written, I will likely finish it tonight - and am offered the contemplation of a universal isolation, a commen loneliness and desire for interaction, companionship, love. I would rather not go into details about the characters themselves and the precise evalution of their pain and dreams, but I am motivated to consider lonliness and dependence and freedom and how I understand the basic human response to relationships.
I'll finish the book and get back to you. In the meantime, do any of you have any thoughts on the subject?
