Hello my pretties. How have you been? Well behaved I hope. Grand, grand.
I trust you'll be pleased to know that the real world has, in fact, not eaten me alive the way myself and doubtless others had been anticipating. Oh no, that would be far too painless. Ha! I joke, I joke. It has been a seriously long time since I was on here, hasn't it? Even by careless Ellie standards. The transition from summer to autumn had proved to be a fairly rocky one, but we won't go there else this will all dissolve into typical hugeness and it's too late at night to consider eating anyone else's friendslists. Quite a large chunk of my life has gone into these last four months, I think. Suffice it to say that summer was fairly ace and eventful and plenty of other nice things, before autumn brought me back to Manchester (overall, WIN) and an unmentionable job (don't even go there, sweetheart). That has now ended as I quite enjoy the company of my sanity from time to time. I have my scouting nose on at present for teaching assistant placements for next term, and I've started a most exciting TEFL course that will hopefully propel me down the road of silly language games and the occasional bit of grammar teaching. In the meantime I am off to find that little bit of something to tide me over, which some people seem to think I have absurdly high standards regarding. I don't! I would rather not undertake a profession that highlights going on the game as preferable career option, is all.
On the whole I do so love our newish house on the wrong/other side of Withington, even if it does still need a bit of love and sweet talking. But I am increasingly concerned at the way it relentlessly eats things. It actually swallows things whole. Either that or we have borrowers. I haven't seen my favourite green cardi for weeks, I am sure they are currently fashioning it into a blanket under the floorboards as we speak. Bastards. And no, it wouldn't simply be my scatty brain, we really do have borrowers. Where's pest control when we need them?
I am going to have a little catch up of my friends page now, but not everything I've missed whilst dipping in and out over the past few months because that would require more tea than exists in the whole of Yorkshire. It's nice to back amongst you, though. Oh, you guys.
