But, just as many animals are killed in the threshers that collect wheat and grain from fields. Like rabbits, field mice etc get their little heads crushed in by this machinery. Isn't that just as bad?

no, not just as many. there are millions upon millions of animals being tortured and slaughtered unfairly. and it makes me sick, so i choose not to eat it. and maybe wheat and grain should be collected by hand. but then again that would be slavery. so there's nothing we can do unfortunately

So the only way you can eat guilt free is to grow your own food and pick it by hand.

well i dont eat meat and i stear away from milk (www.milksucks.com) i still feel guilty when i eat butter and cheese and other dairy products too. unless i know it comes from a good farm and not a factory farmed product. KFC is the worst factory farmed restaraunt. KFC has their own farm where chickens are literally tortured into those tasty little KFC buckets. its disgusting how we can survive without the need for meat but people lack the copasity to do such a thing. for some odd reason americans seem to like the taste of meat.

So do other animals. You ever heard of a carnivore?

this isnt just about the consumed meat, its about how the animals are treated. i believe god put animals on earth to be eaten, but not to be treated so poorly. they can feel pain, and fear too.

Emily...if you don't milk a cow, they becoem very, very upset. I work on a farm, and we hand milk them. But even "factory farmed" cows are treated well. Being milked by a machine doesn't hurt. They are fed well.

no they arent, they are treated like complete shit. having machines being hooked up to their enormously swollen utters does hurt them, they feel pain. they are fed well because they need food to produce milk. the machines cause cuts and boils in their udders. and all that puss and blood goes into your off-white milk. even if it is thouroughly filtered, some of it still goes into those milk cartons. cows that are factory farmed never see daylight, and do you know what they do to chickens in factory farms? they will cut off their beaks when they are chicks to reduce the amount of pecking in the cages they are stuffed into, we wouldnt want to damage the meat now would we? so when they slice off their beaks with these hot blades, most of their tongues and faces get cut off too, and the male chicks (which have absolutely no purpose but their meat) are sometimes automatically killed. and hens who lay eggs are strapped down during their laying cycles, and once their laying cycle is done, they are immediately slaughtered, or they are starved ( ... )

I don't think it's most. I mean, of course there are inhumane farms out there. But if we're talking cows...no. They're too expensive to treat badly.

no, im sorry but, that just isn't true. they are treated poorly. young male cows are put into stalls that they cant even turn around in, they never see daylight, its horrible.
