Like the sappy, clutch your heart and cry words directly from Celine Dion, "It's all coming back to me now"! I got a "Before you start school" checklists from Case Western yesterday and was dreadfully surprised at the number of boxes I could not yet check off. Uniform purchases, ID cards, parking passes, scholarship approvals, calculation and dosages worksheets and a writing sample. Most of it I have to wait for given that my adviser and I have been playing phone tag for the past 3 weeks, but some of it I can get done. I had yesterday and today off work, so I promised myself that everything I could possibly get done on that checklist would be done by tonight. Sure enough, here I am, at 9:30 at night...no closer to checking off boxes than I was yesterday.
It's not that any of it is difficult. The math worksheet is simply a "let's make sure this person can move decimal points and multiply by 10". The writing sample is just as simple answering a question about the social impact of TV talk shows...C'mon. While I know both of these things will be easy and fairly effortless for me, I am...and apparently always will be a major procrastinator.
A look into the next four years...always in crunch time.
