Here’s what I learned yesterday about the Boston buses, courtesy of driver 2501:
* If you accidentally signal for a stop that no longer exists, you will be berated and talked to like you’re an idiot. (Oh, I have to signal for a stop before we pass it? I would never have guessed. Too bad the stop you decided I wanted isn't the one I was signaling for)
* If you try to explain what you thought you were doing, you will be interrupted and berated some more. When the bus finally does stop, you will be told to get off.
* Don’t ask the driver to help you navigate the bus system by telling you where the stops actually are. If he stops telling you what (he thinks) you were doing long enough to let you explain, he’ll respond by telling you to “look at the bus map”.
* If you apologize and walk away, you may think that's the end of it - but rest assured, the driver will yell after you to "just walk back" (thanks, asshole, I was doing that).
Stay classy, 2501.
bad day,
seriously who does that?
