So this is weird...

So this is my first live journal entry...This is weird posting my thoughts for everyone to see. It should be a good place to vent, though, right?

Yesterday I went to my first football game at FSU--homecoming! We won!!! GO SEMINOLES! The stadium is so huge. Yesterday was a good day. I slept until noon and then I went to the game and lunch with my roomie, Nancy. I went to this cute little Greek place called Pitaria. They had the best baklava I have ever tasted. Wow. Yay for being a sugar addict. Nancy and I ate our lunch on Landis green because it was such a beautiful day outside. It's finally getting cold! Then I practiced for a long time. Practicing always makes me feel better. Then Nancy and I watched The Green Mile and cried. Such a sad movie...My suitemate came back a little tipsy last night..very interesting. She's so funny when she's tipsy. :)

I love it here at FSU! It's so great. I love my violin teacher, Beth Newdome. She is the coolest teacher ever! I had the best lesson on Wednesday! She liked everything I played for her. My scales and arpeggios were much better. Shifting wasn't so great, but I can work on that. I finally don't have to do my double stop etude anymore...I have to do another one now, but no worries. :) I played the first movement of my Bruch concerto in studio class on Monday from memory, so she said I'm done with that. I played the second movement for her in my lesson, and she played the orchestra part with me...it was so gorgeous! I love it when she plays with me. She said my intonation and tone were just beautiful. I love it when I have good lessons. They make my whole week better. I have to start on the third movement of the Bruch now. I'm a little scared about that. She said when we're in London next semester, I will be starting on a Bach fugue. We won't have a pianist while we're there, so we'll be working on only unaccompanied pieces. So I'll be having some fun with Bach, and I also have to start on Paganini!! I'm scared! But Paganini is so cool!

So by the way, I'm studying in London next semester! FOUR MONTHS IN LONDON! And Beth is going, so I'll still have lessons while I'm there. How exciting!! So we get to stay in the West End of London, near the theatre district, Trafalgar Square, and Piccadilly Circus. The British Museum is only a block away. While we're there we only have classes from Mon-Thurs, so we can travel and do whatever we want on the weekends. We also have an 11 day spring break to travel. They takes us on trips all over England including Cambridge, Oxford, Stonehenge, and Canterbury. WE ALSO GET TO SPEND FOUR DAYS IN PARIS!!! Paris!!! I'm so excited. One of my good friends is going, too, and we are going to have so much fun!!! LONDON HERE I COME!

I'm ready to go home. I miss my parents and my little sis. I haven't seen them since August 15th! I'm ready for Thanksgiving!! Why won't it come??? I miss my mom's cooking..:(

So I think I like someone, maybe two people...I don't know about that yet. I haven't really worked out my feelings. I thought I had completely given up on the male race...I haven't dated anyone in over a year. I don't know what to think. I think I'll just sit back and see what happens. Maybe it's best sometimes to just let things be.

Well, I must go practice! I have to play in studio class again tomorrow. When will it ever end?? :)
Have a lovely day everyone,
Emily
