Our new teacher arrived in London on Tuesday. He's actually not British. He's American and lives in London. His name is Erik Chapman, and he plays in the London and Royal Philharmonics. Um. Em? I am not positive, but I am pretty sure thinking "I sound like shit" thoughtout a performance is going to mess up your chi in a big way. You have to be nice to yourself while you are playing, my dear! If i make a mistake, I say to myself, "Hey, I knew a mistake was going to happen eventually, now I am just going to get on with it, and play my heart out because this is a beautiful piece...my worst critic is me." Be nice to yourself!!!

hey emily, it's your first time in studio class with this awesome dude in england. cut yourself some slack babe, you've got a lot more chances. you're there to learn and to get better. i'm sure you'll do great. don't focus on what others think, just work with yourself to improve. you're gonna ROCK!!)&*$&#!
