Yesterday: I stepped on the internet cable, pulling it out of my computer, and incidently pushing the connector port into an odd position. I tried to open it up, but there were too many screws and confusing pieces, so I decide to take it into the computer store where they can fix it properly.
This morning: I take my computer into the store. They tell me the connector has been pulled off the logic board and can't just be soddered back on. To fix the problem, I need a new logic board. Logic board= $900.
I ask them if they have any airport cards that are compatible with my computer, since it's 3 years old. They say they have one left ($174) and that they have been discontinued, so if they were to have to order one, it would cost around $500. I remember that Jessica has one that she doesn't use anymore, so I call her and ask her if I can buy it. She says yes but probably wont be able to get it to me until mid- September. So, long story short, I don't have the internet anymore and I'm really mad at myself for breaking my computer. I was actually thinking about replacing it, but I JUST had to replace the hard drive ($300) and it seems like such a waste.
This afternoon: Chris and I get coffee at lunch. I go to work and it's Nette's birthday. We eat delicious cake. I go on rounds. I see a 3ish month old fetus with a brain hemmorage.
This evening: I went to the Bonefish Grill. I really like that place. Their martinis are fabulous.
I'm still mad about the internet cable. I'm stuck using my dad's computer, which is government property and they kind of monitor/track where you go on the internet. My dad once downloaded Limewire and about an hour later they wiped off everything from his computer and he had to reinstall everything. Hopefully they could care less about my livejournal.
