Illness round 3

This time of year is really starting to get to me. There just seems to be an endless round of tonsilitis and colds here at the moment. I suppose the kids pick everything from school and bring it home. It's starting to get to me as I never seem on form enough to blast through the housework like I can normally do. I'm also a lot more tolerant and short-tempered than usual, so I find the little one's normally amusing chatter quite grating. I find taking deep breaths and walking out of the room on occasion helps.

The last 2 weekends I've been up in London decorating. I've done on average 14 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday and am expected up there again this weekend. Thing is I don't think it's helping me feel well at all. I'm busy all week with the kids and domesticity, followed by a gruelling weeekend with no lay-in, very little breaks, hours of hard graft followed by a long drive home...

Monday I took my eldest out to Taste of Chaos at the Brighton Centre. We had been guest-listed as I know one of the American sound-guys - a friend of mine I've not seen for a couple of years. He made a big fuss of us both and took us to meet the bands, gave us merch and took us up on stage to watch the bands. It was lovely to see him but I'd rather have been sat at home than listening to the shitty emo bands. Still, my eldest enjoyed it and that's what counts.

Tonight I'm out collecting tickets for the Skindred/Son of Science show in December. I'm going to pop along to the white Noise night at the Pressure Point to see some of my favourite (talented) Brighton bands playing - namely Echovirus and Lithurgy. I shall have to ask AlexTK to collect me as Ady has my car today. I just hope he doesn't take me via any 'dodgy' car parks.... haha.

Over and out.
