when you wish upon a star...

just for the record, i am currently lamenting germany's loss
Originally uploaded by emily ann. When arriving in Germany, I told Nathanael that I wanted to rent a cat. Monday night, I was casually whining about it again (in between squeeling about the fireflies that I was in love with). Tuesday morning? I wake up to a sound I can't quite figure out at first. Once I fully regain consciousness, I realize there is a cat on our balcony (2nd floor). It casually wanders into the apartment and meows at me. It was definitely too soft to be feral, and too happy to be pet. So I spent the morning hanging out with my new friend on the balcony (I ushered it out of the apt pretty quickly, I didn't want it to think that was okay). Soon after that though, my friend departed again. And I didn't even think to take a picture!

Anyway, so last night, post-WM game, I had this conversation with a friend, and it amused me.

freund: wish for a cat again and see what happens
me: maybe i should wish for something else this time
me: like a llama.
me: now if a llama got into our 2nd floor apt... !
me: i would definitely take a picture!
freund: I can find you llamas much easier than whales or elephants
freund: I think they are pack animals that live in the mts
freund: well
freund: still don't hold your breath
me: yep, we have stairs, but our door is locked
freund: but hey, give it a shot
me: haha
me: i think i'd prefer the cat, really
freund: worst case, you end up with no llama, or maybe a cat again
me: worst case actually i end up with a llama!
me: what would i do with a llama!?
freund: llamas morning noon and night.
freund: name her cherry sue
freund: shave llama fur in funny patterns
freund: and take pictures
freund: maybe shave WM2006 into the side
me: excellent ideas, thanks
me: :)
freund: any time. Just don't come looking for any rational advice. I've been out for a while.

Just so you know, no llama in the apartment this morning.
