I guess today hasn't been all embarassing, or terrible, or disappointing, or whatever.
My director asked me into his office, and I'm all "Eep! It's not a pay week, which means that someone may get fired this week, since that seems to be the pattern, and oh god! I can't afford to be fired!", but it was actually him asking if I was interested in the retiring person's position in collections, and if I was, I pretty much could just move right into it, without interviews, etc. Which is very flattering.
Too bad I hate collections.
And that I'd vowed never to work collections again.
Ah well. Thank something I'm not fired!
