There's no character death in the warnings - I promise he'll be okay. ;)

Part 3 will be posted tomorrow once I finish my other read through - hope you like how my little story ends!

"I don't think Starfleet Medical had your ass in mind when they wrote the section on makeshift tourniquets in an emergency situation."

I still adore that line *happy sigh*

Gosh, you can't stop here! I need to know how this continues, and I need to know so right now.
Your Bones and Jim are so brilliant and real, and the descriptions are so clear that I have no problems at all envisioning this in my head.
Bones's steady decline and how rational he approached it made my heart go out to him thought - how awful to know exactly what is going to come, and how ugly it might be, and having to prepare Jim for it, too.
I can't wait to read chapter 3.

Well the next part will be posted tomorrow once I finish my second read-through beta, so it won't be that much longer of a wait!

Your Bones and Jim are so brilliant and real

OMG I am SO HAPPY to hear that! This was my first attempt at these characters and I hoped I was doing well by them since I love them so much.

When I first had this story idea I knew I wanted someone hurt and thought it would almost be too easy if it was Jim that was hurt and I kinda wanted it to be a proving ground for both of them, and I think Jim would've had a too easy time dealing with himself being hurt. And then Bones couldn't freak out because Jim would and he needs him not freaking out to figure out how to save the day.

Sorry for my rambling, but this story has been in my head for like 5 months and only now am I finally able to share it, so I can get a little expositiony. ;) Thanks for reading and commenting and I hope you like the conclusion!

Really am getting into this story. Especially like the h/c aspect with Bones remaining his curmudgeon self in spite of his knowledge of the seriousness of the injury. Get Jim's feeling of helplessness as well. Looking forward toward the next chapter.

Thank you! I wanted to take a dynamic and twist it a little - I feel like so many times (heck, it's canon) where Jim is the hurt one, and I thought it could be a situation to prove themselves while confronting their worst fears to have the tables turned. Glad you're enjoying it so far!
