Oh, I liked this a lot. I'm surprised there are not more comments! The plot you worked out was excellently paced and I was totally sold on the Poe aspect. It was cool to have that historical side of things worked into a fic - I was actually a little disappointed when Marli turned out to be the instigator!
Wonderful job. Thank you for writing and sharing! :)
I was writing it uncertain as to whether it would end up being Marli or a curse to avenge Poe and in the end I went with Marli since I couldn't think of a reason as to why it took this long for the Poe curse to kick in. Poe certainly did inspire it, though!
Sam/Dean fic from you! I feel like it's been forever since I've read any fic by you, I'm sure I've missed so much along the way while I was off buried in my thesis. I'm glad I picked this one to jump into! I love everything, starting with the title and going right up to the end. One of my biggest problems with writing SPN is finding interesting cases to send them on, so I'm always in awe of writers who think of cool stuff for them to do. :) This was great!
I haven't written in a while, but it was nice to get back to! Especially these 2 with all that angst they've been through since the end of S3.
Case!fic are hard to write - both of mine were spn_halloween prompts. I can't come up with one on my own either. This one just drew me in with the Poe aspect that could be used and then the fact they wanted it based in New England. Then I poked fun of myself with trying to get into grad school and having a crazed biologist be the culprit... As a herpetologist, I think ornithologists are all insane. ;) So I guess I tend to draw real life stuff into these things for me and then add a Supernatural twist.
Anyway, glad you liked it, Laura, and thanks for reading! *squishes*

Freaking birds they're always flying at my windshield. I swear they have it out for me.

Birds have always kinda freaked me out, so when I saw this prompt at spn_halloween I was like, "OMG! MUST WRITE!" ;)
