Like fine wine

Steph (my best friend of TWENTY YEARS) came and did yoga with my kids on Wednesday (so cute!) so we went to Amici's so I could buy her a drink, and we each had 2 glasses of wine, and when I said I'd take the check because it was her birthday, the manager came over and gave us...

a complimentary BOTTLE of champagne.

Like, I've gotten free ice cream and shots before, but definitely not a BOTTLE of champagne.

We got wednesday-night-wasted.  Which, let me tell you, was the perfect way for her to turn 29.  She's not thrilled about it.  I get it, but at this point, I'm all about it.  30 is a whole new decade and a whole new era, and I'm definitely not dreading it.

I guess, though, the point was, she said, that the 20s seemed so...disappointing.

But I don't think so.  We did A LOT  OF STUPID THINGS.  Which is probably exactly what we should have been doing (are doing).  Speaking of doing stupid things, instead of going home to finish my presentation, her bf came and got us, we watched TV, went back and got our cars, and then I came home, went to bed, and woke up at 4 this morning to write my presentation and drive the 3 hours to give it.

Boom.  The next two years of my 20's are going to spent doing more stupid things, and I'm excited about it.  Sparkly bikinis and lacy panties will abound.

I'm deciding this is a great age because I feel like, at this point, I can do whatever I want and know at least a little enough about life to take care of the basics.  And maybe even make my professional mark.
