Oh, no, I'm afraid not! I have no idea who Mercedes Thompson is. :( I'm a uni student who never has time to read anything other than textbooks and Rousseau, and it is upsetting. Did I accidentally steal something? D: I'm actually not very into supernatural literature at all, which is why it's so funny to me that I'm writing something like this! Although I think that there are a lot of shared, cultural-osmosis-y tropes that tend to come along with supernatural lit, so I suppose it's not too surprising! :)

Mercedes Thompson is the main character of the series; Patricia Briggs is the author. Her werewolves are near identical to the ones you wrote. I would highly recommend picking up at least the first book, if only for 'research'. ♥ It'll be summer vacation soon, won't it?

It is summer holidays now! <3 <3 Hurray for everything. But I work full-time during the summer, so I still tend to leave a lot of reading undone. ^-^

I believe I've heard of that author? I think so. I've never read her stuff, though! I'm glad it is enjoyable stuff, at least, and I shall try to check them out, as you recommend them!

Aha, I just picked and chose the parts of werewolves in general lore that I liked the best, really, and ditched the parts I didn't like. ^_^ I'm kind of tickled pink that it resembled the ideas of a proper author, though! How fun is that!

Lucky! We don't have summer vacation until July, and most of that I have to spend packing. T_T But my contract expires then, so I'm afraid I'll be on a looong vacation while I prepare to grad school and/or another job.
