I have been trying to roll this out slowly for myself, only a few minutes here and there, so it would last until the final chapter was out. (No time-pressure from me, though. I know well how it is with podfic WIPs and not having time. Take as much time as you need!) Anyway, so last night I got to the yelling confrontation part and it was just SO GOOD that I needed to come tell you. You really are just a pull-out-all-the-stops reader, you go for line readings 100%, and it is so impressive and so enjoyable to listen to. Your Dave, especially, is just such a raw and damaged person, and I can't get over how much color your reading adds to his character. He's kind of the star of the podfic version, to me. Poor dude. He just was not strong enough to handle the temptation of the power he was given without completely losing his mind. And it's already far, far too late for him to return to being a reasonable person without realizing what he did and basically self-destructing, so there's no path back (except maybe with the help of intensive therapy and lots of time. No easy path back, though) and when he gets cornered he just goes to the place of increasingly crazy because that's kind of the only place that he can go right now, and just, man. What a terrible situation he's let himself get into.

Oh, thank you so much! :) I'm so sorry you've had to resort to rationing! It's actually not been a time issue, I'm afraid: I've had a terrible cold for two weeks now that won't let me say more than a few words without bursting into rounds of coughing, so recording anything has been out of the question. :( But I'm mostly better now -- only a few coughing fits every few minutes! So I'm hoping to get the final chapter done this weekend. :

But I'm SO happy you were compelled to comment after the yelling confrontation! That section truly was wonderful fun to record; I love getting into the emotions of the scene. And, oh, Dave. I'm so happy Dave is coming across well; the way I read him aloud is the way I hear him in my head when I write the scenes. He's just a weak person, and he's gone too far to go back now. SO happy that he's coming across well, thank you!
