Field School Cake

You know field school was a good experience when you end up with a delicious new recipe for cake.  Summary of said experiences shall be saved for in person conversations, since drunkenness and silliness were abundant.

2 eggs
2tsp vanilla extract
2 cups milk (or soy milk)
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder

Preheat oven to 350*.  Grease 9x9" pan.  Cream together butter and sugar.  Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.  Combine flour and baking powder in separate bowl, then add to creamed mixture & mix well.  Stir in 1 cup of milk until batter is smooth.  Pour into pan and bake 30-40 minutes (or until edges are golden brown and center is cooked through).  Remove from oven, then pour remaining 1 cup of milk over cake, allowing it to soak completely.

I don't anticipate this recipe to be groundbreakingly astonishing for anyone that bakes with any regularity, but since I don't, I was pretty excited when it turned out :)   You can also add fruits and booze to spice it up.

For dinner tonight, I'm making chicken fried steak and pommes fondant.  If I show affection through cooking, Max should feel greatly loved.
