Arch jobs

Aug 15, 2008 11:17

Reading the postings on ShovelBums.org really makes me feel as if I'll be able to get a field job next summer, with little problem.  People are still posting jobs, even this late in the season, and to places all over the country, including here in California.  This is very good to know.  It means that my plan of finishing my BA, going to field school next summer, and then bumming around for a bit before applying to grad schools is actually a very viable plan.

Hooray for working archaeologists!

In other news, I'm still sick.  But not as sick as I was.  My fever broke at some point yesterday, and I think we've entered the sniffly, energy recouping period of cold-having.  I may even go to Market in the morning (we'll see).

Also, my schedule for next semester is going to be pretty full.  I'm finishing out Market, and doing Kids in the Classroom on Fridays, and my Safety Assistant stuff, I'll have 5 classes:

Language & Culture MWF with Sreetharan (which I'm looking forward too, bizarrely enough)
Essential Shakespeare MW (to fulfill my Intensive Writing requirement)
History of Anthro TTh with Wheeler (in which the intrepid heroes learn about St. Boas)
CA Archaeology with Basgall (to replace the bad grade I got in it before)
Jewelry with Fry (intermediate stuff making FTW!)

Dear god help me, but I've started a Twitter.  I'll give you three guesses as to what my handle is.

archaeology, anthro
