i hate when people use religion like insurance... they ask when i'll accept jesus christ as my savior and i can't answer them honestly. my mom asked me once and i said i couldn't do it. she of course asked why but inevitably gave the advice that she thinks is convincing, the sort of 'well if you don't and you die you might go to hell and you won't be safe' but i don't think religion should be about security and safety that to me is the antithesis of faith. in faith you are supposed do what you think is right and believe, trust you'll be alright when it's over. there should be no ticket into heaven, no assurance but the life you've lived. it seems many people believe that heaven is like a sam's club where you only get in with a card, as if you'll get to 'the pearly gates' and they ask 'have you got your jesus christ card? we've got a lovely sale today, enjoy the clouds!' and then they swipe you in! it should be a place where you arrive with scarcely the clothes on your back, and you are judged on your character and fullfillment , and purpose.
so that's it... rant over :D
