This night’s Onbeperkt Karten brought me oh-so-much joy! I’ve hit a new milestone, because.. tonight I drove my first 47!
The night started out slowly; we were in a heat with a bunch of loons. They thought they were supposed to be bumping into each other and even included me in their insane actions. This pissed me off - a lot. Thankfully we were rescued by Jeffrey (J. Mattu) whom was also my savior last time. Since he thinks I’m a good driver (yay), he asked us if we wanted to drive with them (the Suits). Obviously I accepted the offer. The next heat already went really good containing only 48ers, apart from the first three rounds (50, 50, and a 49).
The heat after that I can call the best heat I’ve ever driven. EVER. I can’t recall ever having a lap time of below 50 for my warming up rounds, so that’s improvement right there. It’s a LOW 49 even. After that it’s packed with times in the 48 seconds - but wait! Somewhere along the magical heat, I managed to drive my first ever 47! It was a flying lap, honestly my best ever.
As soon as we entered the pits and I got out of my car Jeffrey came up to me to congratulate me - I didn’t even know about the 47 yet! Then the others came as well, one of them holding the paper with lap times, and they showed me my time. I came in SIXTH out of the EIGHTTEEN drivers! Fifteen of them are professional racers!
I think it’s going to be hard to drive another 47 soon, though.. but I shall try!
