Sketch Fest preliminary wrap-up

Mar 26, 2010 19:49

Wow, you guys! There are 15 minutes left before 8, but my dinner's about ready, so I'm about to sign off. That was tremendous fun and inspiration, and I am awed by the work that was produced. Pats on the back all around ( Read more... )

On my end I'd schedule more time for myself and find a way to not be so busy! Lol!

Oh and to not have a sketch/ computer emmergency happen! Lol!

As for this event? Maybe have a mod for two other time zones so our friends in Japan, Australia, and Western Europe might join in more easily for them?

On the time zones, this has me thinking:

Maybe try a blog engine/blog-like engine that allows pre-scheduled posts? Collect all the prompts a day before, divide them into 24, then schedule 24 posts to come out on sketch fest day, so that one prompting post is "released" every hour--"Hour 1", "Hour 2", etc; and comments on the post will be the art responses.

Really wanted to take part but the time zones didn't work for me (besides other things). Maybe next time!

I really REALLY like this idea! If it is possible to find other mods to help post these topics, I would love to see this event last 24 hours to make it easier for more people to participate :D

Please do! The idea was to create some inspiration and give artistic muscles a workout - please do carry that forward and keep using the energy you got from the project to create more!

Both the heart and the snail are available for sale as is ($15), as complete graphite pieces ($25) or as complete colour pieces ($40). The spring faerie will be finished and put on Portrait Adoption :)

Awesome work. I really think the snail is particularly keen. :) It's surreal enough to make people do a double take, and detailed enough to make them want to stare at it more.\\Well at least it did so for me. :)

Same here, though I did manage a third, but never scanned it in until later. :) I'm going to grab a few of the prompts and write them in a note book to take with me. :)

Art:
Sun Magic
Spirit Bear
Retired Warrior

I do have some suggestions for improvement, but I'm too tired to write them coherently, so tomorrow maybe.

The Retired Warrior and Sun Magic were two very interesting takes on the prompts you picked up. I like them. :)
